Piedmont Health Care Center Celebrates Ribbon Cutting of its Brand New Celebration Rehab Wing

On June 23, Piedmont Health Care Center celebrated the ribbon cutting for its brand new, $1.5 million, 12-bed Celebration Rehab Wing. We welcomed the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce, Piedmont Mayor Bill Baker, Council Members John Lawson and Michele Foster, other hospital dignitaries, and the general public. During the ceremony, board chairman Dr. Benjamin Ingram and Chamber of Commerce member Kim Boyd spoke along with our own Trudy Lowe and Kim Boyd of the Calhoun County Chamber.

“Federal government rates nursing homes in the United States one star, two stars, three, stars, four stars, five stars is as high as you can go.” says Mr. Jerry Culberson of Preferred Health Services.“There is only one five-star facility in Calhoun County, y’all know where it is? It's right here. And it has remained five stars all during the COVID pandemic.”

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony and photos, guests were allowed to tour the new wing and were also invited to a reception to enjoy refreshments.

We are thankful to the many people have contributed to this new facility. The Celebration Rehab center was designed to evolve along with the needs of the Piedmont community and the new wing will be an amazing addition to Calhoun County healthcare for decades to come. The new 6,750 square foot facility (built by McKinney Construction in Centre, AL)features 12 beds, all in private rooms with private bathrooms for a feel-like-home experience. This wing is an addition to the existing 85,000 square foot main facility on our campus. This addition increases our private room capacity to a total of 45 private resident rooms.

This residential setting is complete with a host of outdoor spaces and amenities designed to be therapeutic for residents and inviting for families and friends. Outdoor visitation, destination shade areas, therapy walks in a newly designed healing garden are included in the list of amenities that address not just the physical but the emotional and spiritual well-being of residents.

The facility also provides a complete, full-scale PT gym, and state-of-the-art services found in larger metropolitan communities. The building exceeds the strict health and safety standards of the State of Alabama Department of Public Health while meeting the design and programming objectives established by the owners and leadership team.

We are excited for you to visit the new facility, located on Piedmont Healthcare Center’s campus at 30 Roundtree Drive, Piedmont, Alabama.
